Good morning, Sisters (& Brothers)!
I tell you, her sins— and they are many— have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love. ~Jesus, Luke 7:47
We should live in a mind set that we should forgive others in the same manner that Christ forgives us. If we hold on to the "thing" that someone has said or done to us, then we haven't really forgiven them and we are commanded to forgive. Sometimes we wait for the "feeling" of forgiveness to come, but I declare unto you that faith without corresponding actions is dead. We get to choose how we feel in a sense. We can bring those negative, deadly thoughts into captivity and release the trespasser, if you will and granting ourselves blessings for following the Word of God. Forgiveness doesn't mean that I will permit you to continue to mistreat me. Forgiveness means that I release you from the penalty of the thing done or said. "I" won't hold you guilty anymore. Yes, you should still love because the Word tells us to love our enemies and do good to those who hate or misuse us or say any manner of evil against us. I think that as Believers we often have difficulty doing good to those who say bad things against us or misuse us or even hate us. But the Word is really clear. We should let it go... for our benefit and because we love the Lord. Unforgiveness creates physical, emotional and mental issues. We should guard our hearts for out of it are the boundaries of life.
I am sure that there is so much to add to this subject... so feel free to add some more insights.
In Him,
Edna

Today's devotional will speak for itself.
Good morning, Sisters (& Brothers)! This devotional is from studylight.org. It is so powerful and thoughtprovoking. It will speak for itself.
"For the day of the Lord draws near on all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you." Obad. 1:15
Done - Obadiah is a tiny book in the Old Testament. Only 21 verses long, it is the description of a vision given to the prophet Obadiah. In this verse, the same Hebrew word is used twice. The word asah means "to do" or "to make". It has both a general sense and a special ethical sense. In the general sense, it can be used in any context where a creative action takes place (to make, fashion, accomplish or do). But when it is used to describe God's acts in history, it emphasizes God's complete control of the temporal span. God is both the creator of all life and the immanent controller of all living. Everything works toward His purposes. His will is going to be done, no matter what.
This word is used extensively in the Genesis account of creation. However, it is never used to describe a creative act that brings something entirely new into existence (for example, the creation of the heavens and earth or of light). It is only used to describe the creation of objects and beings that are formed from something else (for example, it is used to describe the formation of Eve from Adam). This difference is critical. It clearly shows that God's creative acts fall into two categories. God's creations are not simply extensions of something that already existed. When God started creating, nothing else existed at all.
Obadiah reminds us of something else that belongs to the realm of God's actions in our history the exercise of judgment. Notice that this verse is the reverse of the Golden Rule: What you have done to others will be done to you. There is a flipside to salvation. Judgment is coming, says God. It is inevitable, inescapable and eternal. Your life and mine will come under the microscope of God's holiness. What we have done to others will become our own fate.
This is chilling and frightening. How many acts of deception, hostility, revenge, unfaithfulness, insensitivity, anger, jealousy, envy, greed or harm have I perpetrated on others, willfully or not. How will I survive a judgment day when all of my own self-centeredness is distilled into a poison vile and offered for me to drink? Thank God, literally, Jesus Christ has settled that judgment for me. God forgive me, I desperately need it.
In Him,
Edna

Being In Love
Good morning, Sisters (& Brothers)! One of my Devotional DIVAs sent this to me and I found it very encouraging. It is worth the read.
Think back to when you met that man/woman that you just knew would be the one.
Remember when you realized/admitted to yourself that you loved him/her. Now remember how much you wanted to act like you were in a movie and yell to everyone in the football stadium 'I love you!' You told family and friends how perfect he/she was; he/she was just what you were looking for.
Well, I told THE LORD that I love Him today. And He said to me, How much do you love me?
You haven't told anyone how good I've been to you. You haven't shared how perfect my love is.
You haven't spread the good news that I am always there to listen to your problems. You haven't told your family how I helped you pay your bills when you didn't have a high paying job, or how I got you a better one. You haven't shared with anyone how I took away that addiction
that would have cost you not only your job, but also that man/woman that was just what you were looking for. So how much do you really love me?'
So I said I would share with my friends and family (for starters) just how wonderful, perfect,
understanding, patient, loving, unselfish, considerate and forgiving GOD really is.
He has blessed me with a family that loves me and friends that I can confide in. But even more than that, He has saved me from destruction I couldn't even see coming.
He gave to me the peace of knowing Him and He has never broken a promise.
Truly, He is the best thing that has ever happened to me. And I stand in my stadium today
to tell all of you,
'I DO LOVE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WITH ALL OF MY HEART!'
SPREAD THE WORD...IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME KIND OF LOVE!!
Have a great day & fall in love... again!
